AUGIE DIAZ AND BRUNO PRADA WIN THE 2023 WESTERN STAR HEMISPHERE IN CLEVELAND OH

Although it is always disappointing to have a day without racing during such an exciting regatta - it was the right call by the race committee.The fleet progressed down the river and onto the lake for an on the water delay, and ultimately the call was made to end races for the day - marking the end of the regatta. Hats off to Carol Ewing and her entire race committee for excellent race management throughout the regatta.  The volunteerism shown both off and on the water this week was tremendous and made for an excellent experience for competitors, spectators, and race management. This is a true testament to both the Star Class and Cleveland Yachting Club as these days, it’s hard to find volunteers for great events like these - it takes a village! 

HERE WE GO, THIS IS STAR RACING AT THE 2023 WESTERN HEMISPHERE CHAMPIONSHIP

Cleveland, OH, USA - The fleet started on time on Tuesday with an 1100 first warning. Conditions were breezier then the day before with steady wind 10-15 knots, gusts up to 20 knots. Direction from the SW trending W throughout the day. The sailors returned to the dock with exhausted smiles and the prevailing sentiment was that this was a fun day on the water.

Morgan Stanley & The Doll Wealth Management Group Sponsor 2023 Western Hemisphere Star Class Championship

Rocky River, OH –August 1, 2023 – Morgan Stanley and The Doll Wealth Management Group in Pepper Pike, Ohio, has confirmed their sponsorship of the upcoming 2023 Western Hemisphere Star Class Championships. The event, a highlight in the Star Class sailing calendar, will be hosted at the Cleveland Yachting Club from September 10-14, 2023. 

David A. Doll, CRPRS, Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor of The Doll Wealth Management Group in Pepper Pike, said, "We're pleased to support the Western Hemisphere Star Class Championships, an event that aligns with our goal of community engagement and empowerment." 

The 2023 Western Hemisphere Championships are a key opportunity for Star Class sailors from across the Americas. Around 40 boats are anticipated to participate, competing for the coveted Silver Star award. 

Richard Wilber, Chairman of the 2023 event, stated, "Having Morgan Stanley and The Doll Wealth Management Group as our title sponsors will contribute to making this championship one to remember." 

The event promises exciting competition for participants and spectators alike, showcasing some of the best Star Class sailing talent in the region.
